The I-29 Moo University is hosting two dairy field days in November. Each field day will start at 12:30 PM CST and wrap up around 3:30 PM. Light refreshments and SDSU ice cream will be served. Registration Now Open for Upcoming Seminar
Agricultural lenders will receive current useful, research-based information during the Siouxland Agricultural Lender’s Seminar on Thursday, Nov. 7 with registration at 8:45 a.m. and programing from 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at the Triple Box near Orange City. The seminar will present current information to assist lenders and farm financial advisors in their portfolio management, which is especially important in this era of continued market variability.
Milk production in Iowa during August 2019 totaled 435 million pounds, down 1 percent from the previous August according to the latest USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Milk Production report. The average number of milk cows during August, at 216,000 head, was the same as last month but down 4,000 from last year. Monthly production per cow averaged 2,015 pounds, up 20 pounds from last August.
