The July 2023 alfalfa hay price, at $180.00, was $7.00 above the previous month and $20.00 above July 2022. The average price received for other hay during July was $157.00 per ton. This was $2.00 below the June price but $22.00 above July last year.
The average price for milk was $14.80 per cwt, 40 cents below the June price and $9.00 below July 2022.
The average price received by farmers for corn during July 2023 in Iowa was $6.33 per bushel. This was 24 cents below the June price and $1.11 below July 2022.
